National Blood Donation Month and Dialysis Awareness
January 10, 2024
January is National Blood Donation Month! At Avon Place, we offer in-house hemodialysis through Concerto Renal Services and wanted to take this opportunity to share the importance of blood donations, especially in relation to dialysis.
January was chosen as National Blood Donation Month because of donation shortages due to inclement weather and seasonal illnesses during the colder season. Donated blood is essential for various medical treatments, surgeries, and emergency situations, and supports patients with chronic illness, accident victims, and those undergoing complex medical procedures. The simple act of donating blood can make a significant impact on someone’s life, offering hope and a chance for recovery. We thank Concerto Renal Services for providing excellent care and services to our residents.
